We are representative of PPI Singapura herewith need volunteers for 17^th, 18^th, 19^th of July (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) 2009 for the event titled "Enchanting Indonesia, Just a smile away from the wonders archipelago". This will be held at Civic Plaza (Ngee Ann City, Orchard)

The event is purposely held to promote and show the potential tourism of several provinces in Indonesia. Besides, it is going to show the traditional arts of Indonesia such as traditional dances.         It also shows the Indonesian Batik and traditional costumes fashion show.

In order to make it successful, PPI-Singapura and Indonesian embassy encourage you all as Indonesian students in Singapore to take part to support the event. Technically, so far we need 34 volunteers with following job scope:

1. Booth guardian, take care of the province booths (promotion of tourism) and help answering questions about the any province thing from guests. (24 people which 2 people  for 1 booth)

We also give incentives for those who participate, they are :

1. cash $50
2. committee uniform
3. meal provided

Hi all my fellow Indonesians out there...

Yep, as you can see, it’s me - Hendra WONG, the current Ad Hoc President of PLRT Tutoring Initiatives – a voluntary social initiative that was instituted by the Embassy of Republic of Indonesia and hence currently organized by us, the Indonesian students in Singapore. I am here to answer your question on HOW, WHO, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, & WHAT are this initiatives all about.

WHAT?

For short, the main objective of this voluntary initiative is to educate Indonesian PLRT (Penata Laksana Rumah Tangga/Domestic Workers) with basic skill sets that will then improve their well-being.

WHO & WHY?

Try to look up! (no.. slightly more... pass that charming smile). Obviously, I, personally, need YOU! And justifiably enough I am not capable of running this thing by myself. There are thousands of PLRTs out there and I need all the possible helps from any Indonesian students / professionals out there who were grateful enough to give back and do good deeds towards the better welfare of PLRT, our nation biggest foreign income driver. Then again, if it’s not us who were gifted with educations, who else does care.

WHEN, WHERE & HOW?

This initiative will be conducted twice a week. Within each week, volunteers will be appointed as a group leader and PLRTs will come in group as their students. Though we have incorporated many programs, we always take YOUR ideas and suggestions into our considerations.
